Overview

current VI.png

Virtual Fintech Fair (VFF), co-founded by FinStep Asia and Novsphere Media, is a series of exclusively digital events showcasing Fintech companies from across Asia and bringing together the brightest minds and thought leaders in the global Fintech community. The aim of the organization is to run world class Fintech conferences and forums with the focus on innovation in Asia Pacific.

Existing colour scheme of the website includes:
Maya Blue, Blackcurrant and Dark Purple

Our UI choice of colour will align with their thematic colours while trying to modify the overall ambience.

Research

There are limited number of responses we collected as referred by client. In terms of interviews, below are the problems and some highlighted opinions.

Insights.png

“Confused between events shown"

“Cluttered”

“I want to see easy navigation,

great speakers, easy registration,

how to find sponsorship”

“I expect to see what I can get from the event, insights from speakers, connection is easy”

Persona

DEFINE THE USERS

We found patterns in users perceptions and tasks and aggregated our findings in the form of a persona.

Design Goals

As spoke to client and learnt about current situation, client requested:

  • to better showcase VFF’s previous events in a well planned layout, and create a template for future events

  • to redesign the content page and speakers page

  • to modify the website and make it more appealing to sponsors

Wireframing

We produce wire-frames in place of specification documents focuses everyone on the core features and the importance of content. Basically it shows the intro of speakers, highlight of events, and different partner groups in a hierarchical way.

Style Guide

UI kit.png

A dark theme is ideal for making the profile pictures of the speakers stand out. Since the lighter visual content stands out against the background, the website gains a strong visual hierarchy. Moreover, our team used 2-3 colors in linear gradients to convey a more contemporary style and the colour scheme aligned with the company’s original choices.

Reflection

This was our first client project in the bootcamp and it basically requires a well structured IA and UI upgrade. The outcome is that we aligned with the client’s needs and built a product that embodies their vision, specifically making sure we preserved the original colour scheme and all the necessary sections of content in the optimized website design.
